Whats with FDCservers and Skynet, is Skynet a reseller?
No, Skynet is not an FDCservers reseller. Skynet network is hosted in FDC datacenter physically seperate off of FDC's network. We receive our Internet connection via FDC's core-router (which feeds FDC's networks).
What is the bandwidth that Skynet have ?
Our network is currently fed with 4 different upstreams and using BGP4 technology we are keeping the following balance between transit providers: COGENTCO (60%), PCCW/BTN (20%), WVFIBER (15%), TELIA/RCN (5%) while there are plans of adding at least another transit provider soon. The reason that we’re not announcing the exact Gbps capacity is that our contracts are based on burstable bandwidth so we reserve the necessary bandwidth depending our needs. However, core-router’s available bandwidth is over 20 Gbps allowing us to deal with attacks inside the datacenter without upstream’s involvement.
Do you autonull IPs on attack ?
No, we use many different methods to block (D)DoS attacks to make sure your IP and service is still available we only nullroute IPs as a last ditch. Nullrouting an IP defeat the purpose of protecting against an attack.
How come your prices are so cheap compared to other providers with same service or lower?
It's simple thanks to the price we are able to purchase bandwidth (which is an advantage buying our bandwidth through FDC) at a very cheap price relatively compared to other providers. This allows us to provide high quality service at a really cheap price.
How long does it take for my server to be up after payment ?
Server installation usually take 24-48 hours depending on your installation request and NOC availability to perform hardware installation.
Do you provide Virtual Servers ?
No, we do not provide virtual servers.
Would you support me if I needed help running Virtual Servers through Jail on my server?
No, due to the amount of support Jail or other virtual servers systems take. We are unable to give any technical support. However, you're free to run a virtual server business under your full responsibility
